Children’s Social Worker

Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Social Worker to join our team in Exeter, UK. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in performing professional social work tasks in a community setting as well as broad knowledge about the UK child care system and protection procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct full-scale assessments of children’s needs and recommend appropriate actions.

2. Develop, implement, and review care plans to meet the specific needs of children in a designated case load.

3. Carry out risk assessments and find suitable solutions to minimize and prevent risks.

4. Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and other professionals, ensuring that a holistic approach is taken in meeting the child’s needs.

5. Make necessary arrangements for children to live with relatives, foster parents, or be adopted.

6. Write reports, maintain accurate records, and prepare case documentation for court proceedings.

7. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences and reviews.

8. Provide counselling and support to children and their families.

Qualifications:

1. A degree in social work and registration with the Social Worker England.

2. A minimum of two years of post-qualifying experience in child protection and family support.

3. Sound knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulations and guidance that frame social work practice in the UK.

4. Excellent assessment, decision-making, and planning skills.

5. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and their families.

6. Flexibility to work outside standard office hours and being part of an on-call rota.
