Children’s Social Worker

  • Salary: £45 - £45 per hour
  • Type: Temporary / Full Time

Seven Social Care is currently seeking to appoint a qualified and passionate Children’s Social Worker for our Gloucester based office. This role involves working closely with children and families, evaluating their circumstances, and providing the necessary support to ensure the children’s wellbeing and development.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of the circumstances of children and families.

  

2. Develop care plans that ensure the well-being and safety of children, support their development, and assist them in achieving their potential.

3. Regularly review and update care plans in line with changes in children’s circumstances.

4. Liaise with other professionals such as health workers, teachers, and legal representatives, to safeguard and promote the children’s welfare.

5. Prepare reports and make recommendations for legal action where necessary.

6. Offer counseling and support to children and families.

7. Work in partnership with parents, utilizing a strength-based approach, whilst balancing the empowering approach with risk management.

8. Provide crisis intervention as required.

9. Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings.

Qualifications:

1. A Degree in Social Work or equivalent.

  

2. Registered with Social Work England.

3. Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.

4. An understanding of current legislation and procedure regarding children’s safeguarding.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team.

6. Strong knowledge of child development and a commitment to putting the needs of children first.

7. Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and discretion.

8. Good organizational and time management skills.
