Childrens Social Worker

Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Social Worker to join our team based in Redcar, UK. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and their families in the community.

Responsibilities:

1. Handle and assess cases including the assessment of risks and providing support to meet children’s needs.

2. Develop high-quality care plans for at-risk children and their families.

3. Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams comprising teachers, doctors, health visitors, and the police to ensure the best possible outcomes.

4. Prepare for, contribute to and follow up on multi-agency meetings and case conferences.

5. Keep accurate, detailed and up-to-date case records using IT systems and databases.

6. Provide evidence in court in relation to care or protection orders.

7. Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

1. A degree in Social Work and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

2. Proven experience working with children and families in a social work setting.

3. Knowledge of child development and understanding of the impact of family circumstance on children.

4. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tactfully handle sensitive situations.

5. Ability to establish good and non-threatening relationships with children and families.

6. Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and ability to use necessary in-house databases.

7. Knowledge of current legislation and guidance relating to vulnerable children, including child protection.

For this role, a full UK driving licence and access to your own car is preferred due to the nature of the work and travel requirements. An enhanced DBS check will also be required for successful candidates.
