Children’s Social Worker

  • Salary: £39837 - £52363 per annum

Seven Social Care is looking for a qualified Social Worker to work within West Sussex County Councils Children’s Services, in the Family Safeguarding Team.

The role:

You will act as a professional who practices effectively with high quality judgement, in situations of complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework. Manage caseloads with confidence and independence and are recognised as a source of reliable knowledge and advice and use your initiative to broaden your expertise. You will support case conferences and produce quality assessments, taking shared responsibility and be accountable for your professional development. You will support equality and diversity and respect anyone working for or in contact with WSCC.

The FSP North teams are located in Horsham. The Horsham teams are a close knit, who work well together to strive for the best outcomes for children. The office is shared with colleagues from different parts of WSCC, including the Police, which helps with a joint agency approach to our work.

We are close to local shops. There is a small café in the building, serving light snacks and drinks and free car parking for staff use.

We offer small practice teams of Social Workers managed by a Team Manager and supported by Child & Family Workers as well as additional flexible administrative support from Coordinators embedded within the service. We provide regular group supervision and peer learning alongside specialist roles within the team to focus on the most vulnerable children. As a Social Worker, you’ll have a minimum of 5 CPD and training days per year with access to excellent learning and development provisions such as Research in Practice and Community Care Inform, Social Work England fees paid and annual leave up to 29 days, as well as the option to buy up to 3 additional days. Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work along with SWE Registration
  • Experience: 1+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.
  • Compliance: RTW in the UK
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
