Seven Social Care is seeking an experienced and passionate Children With Disabilities Senior Practitioner to join our team in Dudley.

As a Children With Disabilities Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and their families in line with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

The rate of pay for this role is £33.30 per hour.

Key responsibilities will include:

– Develop effective relationships with children with disabilities, gaining their trust and respect.

– Conduct comprehensive assessments of children’s needs, considering their family circumstances, education, social, and emotional needs.

– Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams of professionals such as therapists, educators, healthcare professionals, etc.

– Advocate on behalf of the child and family to ensure they are receiving the necessary services and resources.

– Prepare and present reports relating to the child’s progress, welfare, and future plans in necessary meetings.

– Provide counselling and therapeutic support to the children and their families.

– Make referrals and coordinate services with other agencies as needed.

– Monitor and record the progress of the children and take necessary action if the care or situation does not meet the agreed objectives.

Requirements:

– A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England

– Significant post-qualifying experience as a Children’s Social Worker, including working with children with disabilities

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, professionals and service users

– Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures related to social work practice, including safeguarding and child protection

– The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands

– A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people
