Children’s Social Worker – Children in Care/Care Leavers

Seven Social Care are currently searching for a dedicated and passionate Children’s Social Worker for children in care/care leavers to join our dynamic team in London. The successful candidate will work closely with children who are receiving long-term support from social services, either living in care homes or on the brink of leaving the care system.

**Main Duties:**

1. Evaluate situations where children are believed to be at risk and establish the best course of action to ensure their safety, wellbeing, and development.

2. Collaborate with professionals, such as therapists, teachers, police, health professionals and lawyers to ensure the wellbeing of children in care.

3. Assist children transitioning from care to independent living, providing vital resources and support to ensure successful first steps towards independence.

4. Develop clear care plans and conduct regular reviews to assess ongoing suitability.

5. Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and timely case notes and reports.

6. Advocate on behalf of the child to ensure their voice is heard and their rights are upheld.

7. Aid in finding long-term solutions for children, whether that be in fostering, adoption, or reunion with their birth family.

**Skills/Qualifications:**

1. A recognised social work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW).

2. Registered with Social Work England (SWE).

3. Experience working with children and young people in a social care context.

4. Highly developed understanding of the legislative and policy framework in which children’s social work operates.

5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

6. Strong resilience and emotional intelligence to deal with challenging situations.

7. Ability to work well within a team as well as independently.

8. Knowledge of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and welfare needs of looked-after children.
