Children’s Social Worker – Court Team

Seven Social Care are currently recruiting for a Children’s Social Worker to join the Court Team in Blackpool.

The court service is a small service within Blackpool Childrens Services and expected caseloads are between 12-15 children once fully staffed. There is flexibility in managing weekly diary’s and practitioners are expected to manage these with an expected duty day once a fortnight based in the office.

Responsibilities:

Work with children and young people, families, carers, and communities to help them make informed decisions, enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to service planning.

Identify risk of abuse and investigate complaints of alleged neglect, abuse, or ill-treatment of children; undertake assessments and, where appropriate, arrange accommodation for children, young people.

Apply critical reflection and analysis to inform and provide a rationale for professional decision-making

Use judgement and authority to intervene with individuals, families, and communities to promote independence, provide support and prevent harm, neglect, and abuse

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: 2+ years post qualified experience

Qualifications: Social Work Qualification, Registered with SWE

Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, Right to Work in the UK

Hours: 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday

Travel: Full UK clean driving licence and car access (desirable)
