Seven Resourcing LTD is working with Ringway Services to recruit a Commercial Manager for their Senior Management Team of the East Midlands Business Unit.

£75,000 per annum

Car OR Car allowance  £5250 plus 12.5% bonus

Job Purpose:

Ringway are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Commercial Manager to join the senior management team of the East Midlands business unit (BU), which manages a mixed portfolio of DBFO’s and a Term Services Contract (TSC). The role will predominately be based on the Milton Keynes TSC, however there will be a requirement to travel between the operational depots. The Commercial Manager will manage the commercial functions and governance of all contracts within the BU in order to deliver sustainable shareholder value consistent with the contracts tender, corporate objectives and agreed processes. As a senior manager the post holder will demonstrate Ringway’s core values and will lead by example.  

Key duties will include:

–    To liaise with the employer on commercial and contractual matters

–    Ensuring the timely application and payment for the works

–    Work in partnership within the operational teams and Client to develop and implement the annual business and delivery plans

–    To support the operational teams in developing their budgets, enabling accurate monthly reporting identifying any variances

–    To ensure that all Commercial processes for each contract are fit for purpose and operate efficiently. 

–    To manage the performance and development of the commercial team and be responsible for all commercial functions and to actively inspire a positive staff morale.

–    To ensure robust and manageable contracts are in place with supply chain partners

–    To ensure that sub-contracts are in place for all supply chain partner whom are sub-contractors

–    To ensure that all early warnings and compensation events are properly recorded and pursued in accordance with the contract

–    To ensure that all Commercial management and reporting is correctly implemented and complied with in conjunction with operational and contract managers

–    Budget monitoring and budget certainty

–    Lead challenge to operational teams on their monthly results

–    Identify and notify core Early Warnings and Compensation Events

–    Development and maintenance of contract Risk and Opportunity Register

–    Score performance of individual supply chain companies on eSource

–    Measure and manage individual team member performance

–    To communicate information in a clear and concise way

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has had previous experience of leading a commercial team and have excellent knowledge of the NEC Suite of Contracts in particular the Term Services Contract. There is also a requirement for the candidate to have experience with Design-Build-Finance-Operate (DBFO) contracts or demonstrate the ability to familiarise yourself with the particulars of each agreement.

 You will be required to be able to lead and develop a team in their function of maintaining contract documentation/instructions/early warnings/compensation events. To have a clear appreciation of the management of risk and opportunity and support the Business Unit Manager in his role as risk manager.  Ensure that you have excellent communication skills and deal with commercial matters in a pragmatic and effective manner. To have in-depth knowledge of highway maintenance contracts. At all times to behave in a way that supports the company’s stated Vision and Values and where applicable to ensure all team members do likewise. At all times to adhere to company procedures with regard to Health & Safety and where applicable to ensure all team members do like wise

It is essential that you have demonstrable experience or working in a construction office and hold a Degree or Post Graduate qualification in Quantity Surveying, or an associated construction related qualification. 

A high level of proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook and Word is required for this role. 

A full UK driving license is essential as a level of travel will be required
