Commissioning Specialist (Domestic Violence and Violence against Women and Girls)

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Commissioning Specialist (Domestic Violence and Violence against Women and Girls) to work in Sunderland. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £18.32 – £22.16 (PAYE and Umbrella payment options available).

The role:

The post holder will primarily have responsibility for commissioning Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls (DA/VAWG) services, although the commissioning of other areas within the portfolio of the Public Health may be required. The post holder will develop and implement strategies and plans to support the development of the DA/VAWG agenda across statutory and non-statutory partners.

Key Responsibilities:

      Forging partnerships with and influencing all key stakeholders within their specialist area of responsibility.

Maintaining locality network of key contacts and providers.

Building topic knowledge and expertise and share this with partners and key groups to influence strategy, commissioning and delivery.

Engaging with and contributing to regional and national networks, where appropriate, to build expertise, share best practice, identify joint commissioning opportunities, skills, and resources relevant to your portfolio.(DA/VAWG)

Respond to the health needs and characteristics of the local population.

Ensure commissioned services are safe, effective, evidence based, of good quality and offer value for money.

Provide assurance to the Council in relation to service performance and their contribution to public health outcomes, Council corporate outcomes and the outcomes of key partnerships.

Services are continuously improved and developed to deliver better health and wellbeing outcomes, quality and value and reduce health inequalities.

Develop and promote Sunderland as a healthy place.

Programmes and commissioned services are informed by engagement with the public, service users, priority groups and key stakeholders.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Any relevant degree (desirable, not essential).
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of right to work and 2 x references.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
