Community Case Worker – Childrens

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Childrens Community Case Worker to work with Coventry City Council in their Child Exploitation Team.

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist Adolescent Support Worker to join the Horizon Team (Child Exploitation Team). The role will be to work with young people who are experiencing difficulties within their lives by delivering intervention programmes and providing support around Child Exploitation. The role also involves carrying out return home interviews with young people who have returned home after a period of being missing.

Working Pattern 37 hours per week.

To be successful in this role you will need:

– Knowledge of relevant evidence base for interventions & practice when working with children and young people

– An understanding of the issues affecting young people and families; including the signs and risks of abuse and exploitation, inequality of treatment relating to race, gender, disability, social & economic circumstance and sexual orientation

– Developed written & verbal communication skills and an ability to engage and communicate with a diverse range of children, young people and their families, including those with complex communication needs.

– The worker is required to work with children and young people to help improve their emotional wellbeing. They will be working with young people as individuals and group work setting and therefore need to be skilled in both of these approaches. They will therefore need to be able to deliver interventions to the young people to support their emotional wellbeing and reduce the risks posed to them from exploitation and youth violence.

– The worker will be required to have some working knowledge and be able to provide advice and guidance to young people in the area of mental health, youth culture and issues associated to child exploitation

– The role includes the completion of Return Home Interviews with children/young people who have been reported missing and are subsequently found/located.

– The worker will engage those children and young people who are perceived to be ‘hard to reach’ and provide them with the tools, experience and confidence to make positive decisions and achieve their aspirations, through supporting them to understand risks and help develop effective safety plans.

– The post involves some weekend work on a rota basis.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Current DBS check and references covering the last 3 years.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
