Contract, Grants and Project Officer

Seven Resourcing is working with Solihull Council to recruit a Contract, Grants and Project Officer for their Stronger Communities (Housing & Communities) Services.

6 month placement

Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office – Thursday is a fixed day

Band E – £17.53 to £20.47

37 Hours per week Monday to Friday 9-5

Job Description:

To work within the Communities & Partnerships division of the Economy & Infrastructure Directorate to support the delivery of a number of programmes such as Holiday Activity and Food Programme, Household Support Fund and New Communities and Resettlement with a focus on project and contract management and monitoring support.

Contract monitoring to include the review, evaluation and performance management of contracts, grants and agreements, primarily relating to voluntary and community sector development.

To have responsibility for developing and managing existing projects and contributing to the development of new projects arising from priorities in the Stronger Communities division. This will include managing relationships between a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualification:

Specialist qualification in relation to project management

Relevant degree or significant relevant knowledge and skills built up through extended experience of project delivery and / or contract management to carry out the full range of duties

Evidence of continued professional learning and development

Experience:

Experience of writing contracts

Experience of delivering training

An understanding of the importance of strong financial management

Knowledge of the legislative and policy framework in relation to homelessness and the community sector

Experience of partnership working in the public sector

Knowledge and understanding of how to write and submit funding applications for external funding programmes, i.e. National Government and to monitor and report on delivery

Experience:

Experience of successful project management to deliver agreed outputs, achieve targets and ensure programmes are delivered on time.

Experience of influencing and negotiating successfully with a range of stakeholders up to a senior level.

Evidence of managing resources and priorities effectively

Experience of working in partnership and promoting effective working relationships across organisational boundaries

Experience of analysis, reporting and presentation of performance and management information

Knowledge and experience of monitoring outcomes and developing outcome based service specifications

Awareness of a range of consultation mechanisms

Knowledge of performance management and quality assurance in improving outcomes
