Data Protection Assistant

Seven Social Care is looking for a Data Protection Assistant at Lisburn and Castlereagh City paying  Council between £13.17 and £17.07 per hour

KEY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The post holder will be expected to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs and requirements of the organisation and duties and responsibilities may vary without changing the purpose of the job or level of responsibility.

To support the Data Protection Officer in meeting the organisations data protection obligations, through the design and implementation of efficient policies & processes. 

Work in partnership with all Units to promote a compliant culture that supports all employees to achieve data protection best practice.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

    To support the development and implementation of all data protection policies, processes and procedures.  Including maintaining a regular review cycle.

 

    Effectively engage with the organisation and service providers to ensure statutory deadlines are met.

 

    Support the Data Protection Officer in responding to and managing data breach incidents, including leading investigations where appropriate.

 

    Advise stakeholders on the completion of effective Data Protection Impact Assessments.

 

    To create and maintain documentation that provides evidence of legal and regulatory compliance based on the accountability principle.

 

    To carry out any administrative duties as required, in relation to the Data Protection function.

 

    Review supplier contracts, including Model Clauses and International Data Transfer Agreements, needed to implement projects/services in partnership with colleagues in Procurement.

 

    Manage and provide advice on all individual rights, including technical measures, required to ensure these rights are acknowledged and fulfilled within legal timeframes.

 

    Ensure compliance with Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards of management and personal behaviour, which reflect the core values and behaviours of the organisation.
