Design Engineer

Seven Resourcing is working with Ringway Services to recruit a Design Engineer for their Engineering Services in Newport Isle of Wight.

£24,000 – £28,000 per annum.

Permanent Job.

Duties:

The post holder will primarily be required to investigate land drainage matters. Meeting with stakeholders and liaising with land owners to not only gather evidence, but also to find ways to effectively deal with land drainage issues. Land Drainage case files will need to be compiled, which will ultimately aid Island Roads and the Isle of Wight Council in resolving such cases, by way of mitigation and / or holding land owners accountable.

Effective communication, site and desktop investigation, record keeping, letter writing, compiling case files, research and establishing ways to resolve or minimise drainage distribution to the network are all essential skills.

The postholder will report to the Asst. 

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

– Good secondary education

– Effective communication including a good telephone manner

– Time management and organisation skills

– ICT literacy.

Experience: – Experience in land drainage, highway drainage, watercourse and ditch maintenance

– Knowledge of the Land Drainage Act 1991

– Knowledge of the Highways Act 1980 and other relevant legal legislation

– Experience in highway maintenanc

Compliance: Up to date Passport or right to work in the UK.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
