Early Help Team Leader

Seven Social Care is recruiting for a temporary Early Help Family Support Team Leader.

Rate is £23.49 per hour (umbrella).

Job Purpose:

– To assist the Group Manager to process, lead, develop and monitor the Early Help Family Support service ensuring the vision and purpose is developed and disseminated to ensure best outcomes for families.

– Make timely decisions using the Levels of Need guidance ensuring safeguarding concerns are escalated.

– Promote and model proper relationships with families and carers so they have confidence in the services they receive.

– Ensure the acceptance and achievement of challenging and realistic plans and objectives for the team. Support staff to achieve the required results whilst remaining focused and supporting families with complex multi-agency needs.

– To effectively manage the budget for the Early Help Family Support

– To apply and provide gorvernance on the Children Act (1989 and 2004) including its key principles and application, Childcare Act 2006,

– To work collaboratively with a range of agencies, organisations, practitioners and families to implement the Troubled Families Agenda and ensure national and local targets are met. Clearly evidencing positive outcomes

– To take responsibility for the management and supervision of Early Help Family Support Workers ‘ workload including the allocation of caseload and to ensure families receive good quality service. To ensure Early Help Assessments and Plans are child and outcome focused.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– To manage all Requests for Service through the Early Help Portal at level 3 ensuring timely decisions and provide families with the correct level of support considering their needs holistically

– Exercise delegated decision making for families awaiting allocation and those families allocated so that children and young people are safeguarded.

– To support families with complex issues to miminise risk and harm for children and young people.

– To provide leadership to Early Help Family Support staff, including their recruitment, induction, professional development and performance management in line with Worcestershire County Council guidelines.

– Provide support to staff undertaking visits outside of the core working hours ensuring their safety is prioritized and safeguarding decisions are escalated appropriately 8pm – 8pm

– To participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of Early Help Family Support Workers and to support their professional development.

– To work alongside Worcestershire County Council customer relations department to respond to complaints from Partners and family members. To address and ensure any learning from this feedback implemented.

– To maintain accurate and up to date records such as casefiles an supervision records.

– To provide quality assurance – complete audits, team diagnostics and ensure identified actions are completed

– Hold responsibility for the performance Dashboard for the designated area, ensuring tasks/episodes are completed in line with Practice Standards

– To undertake the responsibility of a Signs of Safety Champion and role model the behaviours expected of a WCF/WCC Leader

– Manage time effectively, prioritising safeguarding concerns and tasks which have fixed timescales attached.

– To work effectively across all levels of need and collaborate with other service managers to ensure that children young people and families receive the right service at the right time.

– To ensure that all support, assessment and interventions operate to high standards and within statutory requirements.

– To ensure step down referrals, level 3 rreferrals and support to families declining a service at level 4 is supportive challenging and that the potential of risk is minimized.

– To provide support and advice children who have a Special Guardianship Status and provide an overview for therapeutic interncetion and directly support these families.

– To ensure plans are developed with children, young people, their families and with partners, to make best use of effective multi-agency and partnership working and ensure available resources are utilised to meet assessed needs of young people.

– To support, as requested, the strategic planning of service and policy development which responds to assessed need and is compliant with national, regional and local standards. To contribute to key service and strategic plans, which are regularly monitored and used to ensure delivery of key local and national service objectives.

– To work with other managers to ensure that innovative solutions are sought to support improvements and respond to changing needs and challenges.

– To collaborate with Workforce and Practice Development to ensure that professional practice is built on clear evidence of the effectiveness of particular ways of working, supported by clear and effective professional development links.

– To ensure that the participation of young people and their families are involved is central to service delivery and that they are involved in development, implementation and evaluation of services to best meet their needs.

– To contribute to effective business planning and performance management to support the drive to continuous improvement and to collaborate with Performance and Data teams to ensure that performance management is built into the delivery of services and for the collection, collation, analysis and reporting of performance data information.

 

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: – A Degree in Social Work or other relevant professionals qulification equivalent relevant NVQ Level 5 or Diploma in Youth and Community Work or Early Years and Childcare.

    – Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

  • Experience: – Substantial experience of working directly with children, young people and families. who are requiring support to address complex needs

    – Demonstrable experience of managing, coaching and developing staff members.

    – Demonstrable experience of working effectively in a multi-agency environment, being responsive, sharing information and collaborating to achieve targets.

    – Considerable experience of coordinating meetings

    – Experience of project management.

    – Experience of budget management.

    – Experience of dealing with complaints

    – Significant experience of delivering and reviewing assessments

    – Considerable experience of successful service delivery with partners and other external organisations

    – Substantial experience of working effectively with children, young people and their families, who are assessed as having very complex needs.

    – Experience of group work with children/young people and adults.

    – Experience of developing and monitoring projects.

    – Demonstrable experience of maintaining accurate and up to date administrative records.

    – Demonstrable Experience of the levels of needs guidance, in making timely threshold decisions

    – Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks in a challenging and demanding environment

    – To have experience of supervision and coordinating the work of others who are providing support to families with complex needs.

  • Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
