Employment Solicitor

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking an Employment Solicitor to work within Cardiff. This is a full time role, paying £50 p/h. 

Job Purpose:

The post holder’s will be based within the Authority’s litigation team. Their main responsibilities will be those of an Employment Lawyer. This will include giving advice in relation to Employment Law, policy, governance, conducting litigation; and where necessary and appropriate appearing as advocate for the Council in Court and at tribunals (including the ET).

Job Specific Requirements

 

      To attend and advise such committees, sub-committees and other groups and panels of the Council as instructed by the Director of Governance and Legal.

Provide employment legal advice to Members of the Council and Officers of the Council and to associated bodies, companies and organisations as instructed by the Director of Governance and Legal.

Implement or secure the implementation of those decisions of the Council relating to legal matters as may be allocated by the Director of Governance and Legal or relevant Operational Manager

Conduct employment litigation on behalf of the Council, be responsible for the care and conduct of such proceedings

Negotiate and draft agreements and the like

Prepare matters and papers for any form of legal or quasi legal proceedings and undertake any statutory or administrative task ordinarily required of Legal Services by the Council.

Education & Training

Qualified Solicitor or barrister with current practising certificate or equivalent qualification with ability to practice.

Seven resourcing are currently seeking a Social Work Assistant to work within Cardiff. This is a full time role, paying £18.06 p/h. A driving license is required for the role. 

Job Purpose:   

The post is located within Adult Services Review Team, based at County Hall and will be accountable to the Team Manager.  The post holder will work closely with the Team Manager, Social Workers and Duty Workers.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. To arrange and monitor appropriate services in line with individual care plans.
  2. To provide advice and practical help.
  3. To liaise with voluntary and statutory agencies.
  4. To complete annual care plan reviews and or reassessments.
  5. To participate in team meetings and duty rotas.
  6. To undertake these duties in line with Council Policies and Procedures.
  7. To undertake training and self-development and to contribute to this process in others.

Experience / Knowledge

 

Experience of working with older people and adults with a physical disability through direct contact in a working environment.

Experience of working with staff from a wide variety of agencies.

Experience of working within a hospital setting.
