Seven Resourcing are currently seeking an Estates Officer to work within Rugby Council. This is a full time hybrid role, paying between £20.41 – £22.84 p/h.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for the day to day administration of the estates portfolio in accordance with the Councils Asset Management Strategy and corporate priorities, values and aims of the council under the direction of the Property Manager.

To co-ordinate estates work across all council service areas and portfolio’s and external stakeholder’s.

To identify to the Property Manager any commercial opportunities on council owned land.

T0 manage the specialist estates apprentice.

To manage property acquisitions and disposals as directed by the Property Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To have a commercial approach to estates to achieve best value from the Council land holdings and property Assets.

To be aware and up to date with estate management practice and apply these to the Council’s portfolio.

To assist to appoint and manage external valuer’s and estates consultants for an efficient estates service delivery.

To assist in designing and implementing estate policies and procedures to suit Council objectives.

To write and prepare council and estates reports.

To co-ordinate internal and external stakeholders to deliver estates work to the council’s requirements.

To work with council officers from all services and portfolio’s housing, legal services, maintenance, planning, finance, parks and recreation and project management teams, as required to deliver an efficient estates service.

To work with legal services in the preparation of legal documentation, ie terms of leases, licences, easements etc.

To assist to manage estates risks and set up estates records.

Maintain and be responsible for property ownership data on the councils mapping system (currently QGIS) and produce plans when required.

To organise estates meetings and attend the Council Asset Management Group when requested to report on estates work and performance data.
