Family/Adolescent Safeguarding Social Worker/Senior Practitioner

Seven Health & Social Care are looking for a qualified and experienced Family/Adolescent Safeguarding Social Worker/Senior Practitioner to join a committed and dedicated safeguarding team in Dudley, UK.

Responsibilities:

1. Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and their families in a timely manner, in order to identify risk and protective factors.

2. Implement effective intervention plans as part of a multidisciplinary team, working with other agencies and professionals to ensure a child’s safety and well-being.

3. Work closely with parents and caregivers, providing guidance, support, and direct interventions.

4. Provide mentorship and supervision to junior social workers, helping to drive best practice within the team.

5. Advocate for and represent the child’s best interests, promoting their rights within family, school, and community settings.

6. Prepare and present high-quality reports for child protection conferences, child care reviews and court proceedings.

7. Commit to continuous professional development, staying updated with current legislation, policies and procedures.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Social Work or a relevant field.

2. Registration with the Social Work England (SWE).

3. Extensive experience in working with vulnerable children, young people and families, particularly those at risk of harm.

4. Knowledge of child protection legislation, safeguarding practices, and related procedures.

5. Excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills.

6. Ability to manage complex caseloads, make sound judgments under pressure and work cohesively within a team.

7. A current DBS check, or willingness to undertake one.

The successful candidate will be passionate about promoting the welfare of children. They will have excellent skills in assessment, analysis and planning, and can communicate effectively with children and families, helping them to understand and participate in the interventions.
