Family Court Adviser

Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Family Court Adviser to join our team in Portsmouth, UK. As a Family Court Adviser, you will be responsible for providing expert advice in family law cases and ensuring the welfare of children involved in family court proceedings.

Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate family dynamics, social elements, and the needs of children involved in family court proceedings.

2. Develop reports and recommendations for court proceedings based on thorough investigations.

3. Advise the court on matters relating to the welfare of the child or children involved.

4. Provide information and guidance to families regarding court processes.

5. Advocate for the best interests of the child in court.

6. Liaise with other professionals such as social workers, solicitors, and court staff.

7. Assist in mediation processes between family members where appropriate.

8. Maintain up-to-date records and case files.

Qualifications:

1. A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related field.

2. Registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body.

3. Solid understanding of regulations and policies pertaining to child protection.

4. Prior experience working within the Family Court system, or in a similar role.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

6. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

7. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of professionalism at all times.
