Family Support Worker

Seven Social Care are looking for Family Support Workers for positions up to 6 months at Worcestershire Children’s First.

£17.66 per hour (umbrella rate). There is the potential of extension and from going temp to perm HOWEVER this is not a 100% guarantee.

Job Purpose:

We are looking for Specialist Family Support Workers to join Worcestershire Children First, supporting & working alongside Social Workers in either one of the following services:

-> Assessment Teams: working with Social Workers where we are undertaking initial Child in Need or Child Protection Assessments, undertaking joint visits and specific pieces of family support interventions

-> Safeguarding Teams: working with Social Workers where children are on Child Protection Plans – undertaking joint visits and targeted support interventions with children & families

-> Through Care: working with Social Workers to support joint visits and targeted work with children who are looked after, with their carers and at times with birth parents

Duties:

The roles also require working in partnership with relevant professionals and agencies, to ensure good outcomes and life chances for children and young people in Worcestershire.

Within the role it is essential that you have experience of working with children and young people and the ability to develop positive relationships.

You must have the ability to understand and work with young people, who may have a range of social and emotional difficulties and who can present complex and challenging behaviours.

 

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 is desired but NOT ESSENTIAL
  • Experience: Experience as a family support worker is preferable, but strong residential or support work experience will be considered. You will not be considered if you have just done HCA work.
  • Compliance: Up to date Passport and DBS. 5 years’ references.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37
