Family Support Worker

Seven Social Care are looking for 2x Family Support Workers based in Forres. This is likely to be a long term contract, 6 – 12 months.

The role:

The core purpose of the role is to work with parents to reduce risk; strengthen parenting capacity; support children’s development and sustain positive change. The post offers a range of opportunities to work with Mothers, Fathers and Carers with diverse needs within their own home and their local community, keeping a strong focus on positive outcomes for children that reflect their rights.

Key Responsibilities:

Ability to identify any ongoing needs for families following support and having the skills to address such needs to ensure progression to further support or learning. Knowledge of strategies used to engage hard to reach groups of parents is key in facilitating appropriate support.

Knowledge and an understanding of the core principles of child development theories, mainly social learning, attachment, parenting styles and the model of human ecology, making links to parent-child relationships and children’s well-being.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: SVQ Level 2 or 3

Experience: 2+ years working as a Family Support Worker

Compliance: Up to date SSSC registration and PVG.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
