Family Support Worker (Missing from Home)

Seven Social Care is looking for a Family Support Worker to start a new exclusive role in Manchester working in the Missing from Home Team . This is a temporary contract initially for 3 months with the possibility of placement extension.

The role:

You will provide practical and emotional support to children young people and their families to safeguard and promote their welfare. You will work with parents and families to enable them to make positive changes and meet their children’s care needs in order to enable them to achieve their potential. Work with young people who are reported missing from home, for those who live at home in Bury and those who are looked after by another local authority and placed in Bury, to understand the reasons for this and to reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and implementing programmes of agreed work with children/young people and their families.

Work with parents to equip them with the necessary skills to promote child/young person’s appropriate development.

Empower and develop the skills of parents, children and young people to express their views appropriately.

Work within the local authority’s policies and procedures to safeguard and promote the welfare of the child and young people.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience of working with vulnerable Children and Young People

Compliance: Up to date enhanced DBS

Hours: 37 hours a week
