About the role

To co-ordinate and facilitate therapeutic family time for children and their parents or other family members.

– Work hours are flexible and you maybe required to work before 08:30am and after 5:30pm in order to facilitate family time.

– If candidate has limited experience in supervising family time, shadowing experience will be provided

– The right candidate will have the skills required to support children and their families during difficult times and show empathy and understanding as well have the skills required to diffuse challenging situations that sometimes arise during family time.

– The role also includes transport to and from School if this supports family time and the child’s current placement. This may mean working beyond 5:30pm to transport children home or starting before 08:30am to collect a child before family time.  

– Able to provide good quality family time recording  for which you will be given guidance. 

Key Accountabilities:

– To co-ordinate arrangements for family time for children and their parents or other family members as directed by court.

– Where required, to provide transport for children and young people to attend family time.

– To facilitate therapeutic family time between children and their families offering support to children and families.

– To provide parenting support and guidance to parents during family time.

– To support the completion of accurate documentation, reports and records in relation to children, young people and families.

– To be available outside of traditional working patterns including evening and weekends to provide support to children, families and carers when it is needed.
