Finance Manager

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Finance Manager to work on an interim basis with Conwy Council for an initial period of 4 months.

37 Hours Per Week but welcoming applicants looking for anything 30 hours and above.

Up to £18.05 Per Day (PAYE) or up to £22.25 Per Day (Umbrella)

The Job-

Provide support to the Head of Accountancy & Exchequer for a range of complex and specialist functions and be able to assign work to others.

Service Accountant for Theatres and Conferencing, provide a full range of professional accountancy services for the Theatres.  To be responsible for the budget preparation, monitoring, and control of the Theatre budgets in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Authority as well as the year end closure of accounts, balancing and reconciling systems and grant monitoring.

Provide specialist support and assistance to the Principal Accountants for service delivery to Environmental Roads and Facilities, Education Services – Home to School Transport and Human Resources.

Deputise for the Treasury Management (TM) Accountant and undertake the TM function for the authority when required.

  • To undertake work with the Principal Accountant in the compilation, monitoring and review of the ERF Revenue and Capital Budgets, Education Services – Home to School Transport Budget and Human Resources Budget.  Provide training and monitor / review work done by ERF finance assistants.
  • Responsible for providing an accountancy function for the Theatre Services which includes setting the budget, monitor Income and Expenditure and closure of the service accounts.  Monitor and review the work done by Theatre finance staff to evaluate and identify any irregularities.
  • Responsible for providing specific information to the Head of Service for Theatre Services to apply for and claim grant funding for specific projects run by the Theatre.
  • Responsible for maintaining the ticket sales information data, including all income and expenditure for each separate show or event at both Venue Cymru and Theatre Colwyn.  Reconciling the information to the general ledger and the accounts payable ledger.  Ensuring that revenue recognition is adhered to with respect ticket income received, or advance payments paid out to artists/agents, so that income is accurately reported in the financial year to which it relates.

Applicant Requirements-

  • Hold a relevant Professional Accountancy Qualification CCAB (preferably CIPFA qualified or part qualified) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in an accountancy role.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development, in line with the professional qualification.
  • Experience of managing large, complex, and diverse budgets, and being able to explain complex issues to non-finance managers in a clear and concise manner.
