Finance Officer

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a Finance Officer to join the Financial Services for Darlington Council. This is a full time position and we are paying £21.20 per hour for this role. 

 

The role:

To contribute to a highly effective service within the Operations Finance Team involving the management, advice, guidance and coordination of the finances of the Council and Schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of appropriate systems and procedures for the preparation, management and review of revenue and capital budgets of the Council.
  • Prepare and provide accurate and timely financial information, reports and advice for senior managers and budget holders within the Council.
  • In liaison with service managers provide advice and support to enable the preparation of annual budgets and develop profiles of expenditure and income. 
  • Provide business decision advice to managers and budget holders.
  • Co-ordination and completion of year-end returns, including working with budget holders to close annual accounts and contribute to the production of the Council’s Annual Statement of Accounts.
  • Assist in the development of financial and management information systems for use across the Authority and by specific groups or service managers.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths. Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 
  • Compliance: Current Standard DBS check. 
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
