Fleet Fitter

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Fleet Fitters to work in Middlesbrough. These positions are initially on a temporary basis paying £ 23.25 per hour.

Position:  Fleet Fitter

Location:  Middlesbrough

Pay Details: £23.25 per hour PAYE.

The role: To provide a full maintenance and repair service for the Councils Fleet of vehicles to Ministry of Transport standards.

Key Responsibilities:

– Responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of vehicles operated by the Council and other agencies which includes HGV, LGV, Cars, Refuse Vehicles, Mechanical Sweepers, Lorry Loaders Gritters and Horticultural equipment.

– Carry out MOT and taxi tests to the standards required by the Ministry of Transport.

– Prepare and submit vehicles for MOT and HGV annual test.

– Diagnosing faults, identifying parts required, fit parts and ensure roadworthiness of vehicles, also carry out minor body work repairs.

– Carry out advanced diagnostic work in relation to auto electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

– Completion of relevant paperwork including writing up reports regarding condition of vehicles as required i.e. if deemed to be uneconomical to repair.

– Attend vehicle breakdowns.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Craft qualification or recognised motor vehicle maintenance qualification.

Experience: Minimum 4 years’ experience in vehicle workshop or fleet maintenance vehicle workshop, demonstrate knowledge of servicing and repair of car and light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonne, Demonstrate knowledge of servicing and repair of HGV vehicles between 3.5 tonne and 32 tonnes.

Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and references covering the last 2 years.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently + Hold a current category B driving license.
