Fostering Business Support Officer

Seven Social Care are currently looking for a Fostering Business Support Officer to start work in Crewe, Cheshire. This is an interim role initially for 3 months with the view of extending.

As Fostering Business Support Officer, you will provide business and administrative support to Supervising Social Workers, Team Managers, Fostering Support Workers and the Management Team within the Fostering and Special Guardianship Team to ensure outcomes are met regarding the safeguarding, protection and permanence of vulnerable children and young people within Cheshire East.

Responsibilities:

The organisation, attendance, minute taking and distribution of fostering panels and fostering meetings.

Completion of applicant’s statutory checks in relation to their fostering assessment involving liaising with multi agencies for references ensuring documents are returned within timescales to comply with court/panel timeframes and updating/loading documents on required systems.

Ordering equipment, following the appropriate policies and procedures using Cheshire East contracted suppliers, recording and coding transactions to set timeframes.

Processing and renewing staff DBS applications, ensuring all new staff members have access to equipment and necessary systems.

Booking interpreters, arranging document translations and responsibility for requesting paper files from offsite agency for Supervising Social Workers.

Acting as an initial point of contact for foster carers and multi agencies for enquiries relating to the service and responding in a timely manner whilst comply to GDPR regulations. 

Undertaking a range of administrative duties including managing the Fostering Service inbox, word processing and IT based tasks.

 

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: Extended previous experience within an administration role, preferably within a Local Authority setting

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, or another relevant field

Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, Right to Work in the UK

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday working pattern which will consist of office based and hybrid working arrangements.
