Seven Resourcing are looking for a Gangs Violence and Exploitation worker in Hammersmith & Fulham.

12 weeks. 36 Hours a Week

£23.90 per hour

The role: To deliver Hammersmith & Fulham’s approach to supporting young people out of gangs, violence and exploitation. This will involve a significant amount of joint working to ensure that Hammersmith & Fulham establishes and delivers early intervention approaches, case management and bringing about reductions in the number of young people involved in violent incidents. Work with other departments within the council, police and other strategic partners will be a key part of the role.

To provide high-quality delivery and co-ordination of outreach, which is focused on the informal education, personal and social development for young people living in the locality with the aim of reducing the involvement and impact of gang activity.

Key Responsibilities:

      Hold a caseload of young people and be responsible for providing each young person with support and assistance in engaging with a variety of important interventions with a focus on early intervention and preventative measures in relation to gangs, violence and exploitation.

Assist with the identification of young people who are at risk of becoming involved in gangs, violence and exploitation and the devising of intervention plans to help them move positively onward in their lives.

Provide targeted interventions to high-risk young people to prevent them from joining gangs and/or support them in exiting gangs and curtail and stop (re)offending

Assist young people to become linked in with services when making the transition from youth to adult services.

To liaise with other key partners within the Gangs Unit – the police, ASB Unit and analyst in the sharing of information.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

       Educated to degree level and / or relevant work experience in gangs, violence and exploitation.

Experience: Experience of working in close partnership with the police, Children’s Services, Probation and the Voluntary and Community Sector
