Garden Centre operative

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Garden centre operative to work in Islington.

This is a full-time position, and we are paying £14.96 Per hour (Paye) and £19.59 (Umbrella) per hour for this role.

The role:

In recognition of the need for flexible working and for providing excellent customer care and quality services it has been agreed that the front-line operations will be based on just three generic Job Descriptions, enabling (after appropriate training) the use of staff across the full range of services provided (i.e. Refuse Collection; Recycling; Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance in all Highways; parks or other similar locations.)

Key Responsibilities:

To work based on fair pay for a fair day’s work. In accordance with the Council’s Fairer Islington Policy all Staff shall be paid a minimum of the London Living Wage and staff will support apprenticeship schemes for local people and to promote and develop careers.

To carry out general cleansing, waste management, grounds maintenance and park keeping duties as directed by supervisor.

To assist in the implementation of productivity increases to bring the operation in line with industry productivity norms. To co-operate with the design and implementation of changes to services or methods of working to meet changes in customer requirements or to improve efficiency or reduce cost or environmental burdens. For a full service to be delivered as economically as possible there will need to be change to some start and finish times. If this is the case consultation with the individual and their trade union representative will commence before implementation.
