Grounds Worker

Seven Resourcing is working with Leicestershire County Council to recruit 5 locum Grounds Workers for their Operational Property Services Department.

Umbrella rate of pay is £14 per hour.

THIS IS NOT A PERMANENT JOB.

Job Purpose:

To undertake a wide variety of groundwork & landscaping projects across Leicestershire.

Working from multiple depots as when and when required by the Sites Development Operations Team Leader.

Duties:

To oversee sites development projects from start to completion, in conjunction with Operations Team leader. Including ordering of materials, plant and equipment required to deliver projects in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.

To work along-side the other team leader and assist in the delivery of other Sites Development Projects across Leicestershire. To assist the service with the production of estimates for work to be undertaken.

To drive vehicles and use machinery as instructed by Development Operations Supervisor to deliver the service and or training requirements. To attend training courses required to carry-out the role fully.

To respond as necessary to emergency situations and assist with works such as flood control, snow clearing etc and any other works considered to be urgent by the Leicestershire County Council.

To cover, as required, in supervising the Supported employees in the absence of the team leader or when necessary in delivering project.

To undertake any other duty and to work from any other depot as deemed to be in the interests of the Sites Development Section.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in relevant subject
  • Experience:
  • Experience in the groundworks & landscaping projects.
  • Working under pressure and problem solving
  • Experience of Liaising with customers and dealing with complaints.
  • Experience in working with ground working operatives.
  • Compliance: Up to date Passport.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
