Head of Registration Service

Seven Resourcing are looking for an interim Head of Registration to work in Huntingdon. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £29.04 PAYE or £37.75 umbrella per hour. The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. 

The role:

Provide the vision, strategic direction and leadership for the Registration Service, ensuring it is at the forefront of service delivery, and recognised nationally for its high standards and best practice. 

To promote the interests of Cambridgeshire, and the profession as a whole, while maximising the opportunity to influence regulatory landscape change, represent the council on both the East Anglian Registration Board, and the region on the National Panel for Registration Services for England and Wales.

Lead, manage and monitor the effective delivery, performance, development and improvement of the countywide Registration Service, ensuring high standards of customer service, professional best practice and legislative compliance, whilst minimising costs to the Council. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, and implementation of service wide performance management arrangements that meet national and local reporting requirements, and standards, as well as legal requirements. These arrangements will provide robust, accurate and effective performance management through the collation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of accurate, meaningful and timely information and data.   
  • Use performance monitoring and customer feedback to inform service interventions designed to raise performance and improve service provision. Report to the Assistant Director and Committee on performance levels and develop action plans to meet targets and deliver continuous service improvement.  
  • Ensure that the Registration Service staff maintain full up to date knowledge of relevant and frequently changing registration law, guidance and procedural requirements to enable them to consistently adhere to current legal and procedural practice, while minimising reputational, legal and financial risk to the council. 
  • Lead the compilation and submission of the Annual Report on performance to the General Register Office in accordance with legislative requirements. Continually improve service provision to raise performance against the national performance measures.   
  • Lead and embed effective stakeholder consultations and events, to maximise stakeholder involvement in service development, as well as monitoring customer complaints and ongoing customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. 

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

      Key Skill Level 4: Bachelor’s degree; HNC; HND NVQ level 4 or equivalent; including professional qualification.

Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 

Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
