Highways Supervisor

Seven Resourcing is working with Eurovia to recruit a Highways Inspector for their Highways Services in Milton Keynes.

Someone who can already do the job, can’t start from scratch.  Need to come from a highways background, knowledge of high speed traffic management is preferred but not essential.

No newly qualified/trainees 

Need people management experience

Night working involved but will be told shifts in advance

2 weeks of days/2 weeks of nights.  33% uplift when on nights.  Mon-Fri overtime is 1.33, time and a half on weekends.

Days 7.30 – 4.30pm and nights 7pm – 4am

Company van, fill up on site so no fuel card, no personal use.

No hybrid working on this role.

Could go upto 40k depending on experience

Will train for HGV if they have everything else

Job Purpose:

– To work safely and promote a safe environment for all operations for all personnel under your authority and others who may be affected by the Company’s activities such as the general public.

Duties:

– Front line responsibility for service delivery of routine maintenance works, winter maintenance and emergency response activities including standby duties as required

– To supervise the operational teams in line with productivity and quality targets and to produce weekly costs and value using bespoke software

– To monitor the skills and experience of operatives within the teams and work with Area Manager to plan training and development

– To work closely with the Plant and Fleet Department to manage the vehicle and equipment assets at best efficiency. It is the Supervisors responsibility to reduce vehicle damage incidents and promote a culture of valuing the company’s assets

– To actively foster a positive team spirit

– To actively promote and use the bespoke software available to deliver the service requirements

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

      SMSTS or SSSTS desirable but not essential.

HGV Class 2 desirable but not essential

Experience: 2+ years experience in a inspector or supervisor role

Compliance: Up to date Right to work in the UK.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
