Housing Choices Case Officer

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Housing Choices Case Officer to work in Coalville, Leicestershire. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £15.92 – £19.82 per hour (PAYE and umbrella payment options are available).

The role:

To prevent homelessness by giving comprehensive advice and assistance, covering the full range of housing options offered by the Council and other agencies to enable customers to find solutions to their housing issues. Where necessary undertake homelessness investigations, issue decisions and discharge the Council’s homelessness duty in accordance with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

      Be proactive in the promotion of Housing Choices services & continually explore ways of promoting awareness of the service.

To lead in a specialist area of housing advice e.g. domestic abuse, young people, private rented sector or welfare reform.

Support customers to access social housing.

Provide a caring, supportive and proactive service.

Undertake homelessness investigations, issue decisions and discharge duties in accordance with relevant legislation.

To prevent homelessness where possible through comprehensive advice and assistance covering the full range of housing options offered by the Council and other agencies to enable customers to find solutions to their housing issues.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: References covering the last 2 years and proof of right to work in the UK.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 36.25 hours p/w.
