Housing Management Officer

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Housing Management Officer to work in Southampton. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £16.06 – £19.70 per hour (PAYE and Umbrella payment options are available).

The role:

To provide an efficient, comprehensive, and caring tenancy and estate management service to all tenants and leaseholders without favour or bias.

To deal with resident’s issues, assisting them in accordance with Council policy.

 

be accountable to the Assistant District Housing Manager by participation in a team dedicated to the comprehensive and sensitive management of their patch.

To be on the patch taking ownership, and understanding the tenant’s needs and their aspirations understanding the customer profile of the patch.

Key Responsibilities:

      To foster good landlord/tenant relationships and to ensure compliance by the City Council and its tenants with the terms of the tenancy agreement.

To maintain accurate information on the Council’s housing management system (in particular using customer services) on tenancy issues relating to individual properties/tenants, and using customer services as a tool for managing case work. To maintain other recording systems where the IT system is not relevant.

  • To effectively manage issues of anti-social behaviour, taking action in line with the Council’s policy and procedure, within timescale and in liaison with the safer Communities Team as required.

 

To manage Introductory Tenancies (particularly in relation to ASB cases)

To consider safeguarding issues at all times – if there are concerns regarding safeguarding of children then to refer directly to the MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub), if with Adults to the Adult Safeguarding Team.

To maintain effective lines of communication with the relevant Income Officer for the patch to ensure that efficient visits are made to tenants in relation to tenancy and estates issues, and income services issues at the same time.

To work effectively with outside staff, particularly Neighbourhood Wardens, Tower Block Wardens, Supported Housing Staff, Cleaners

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: 2 x written references.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
