Housing Strategy Manager

Seven Resourcing are looking for an interim Housing Strategy Manager to work in Westminster. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying £350.00 (PAYE) or £443.10 (umbrella) per day. The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. 

The role:

The new strategy will guide our approach to future service development, commissioning, budgeting, governance and decision making, and workforce development within Housing Needs and across the Council as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:

Have responsibility for establishing and coordinating the processes for reporting against performance and the delivery of the strategy across Housing Services and Commercial Partnerships working with colleagues from across the service

Facilitate scrutiny of strategic outcomes by leadership teams and through effective reporting – underpinned by robust performance management and governance frameworks.

Support integrated and collaborative working across the team, department and wider council to providing general housing strategy support

Leading on and supporting the delivery of critical Housing projects

Produce and present consistently high-quality reports in consultation and to the requirements of the Leadership Team

To deploy resources to maintain and update the Department’s understanding of the national, local and organizational context in which Housing Services operate, to facilitate decision making, service transformation and commissioning.

To manage and advise upon political processes, ensuring quality, clarity, and consistency in the Department’s interactions with elected members and senior officers.

To scope the demands and maintain oversight of external inspection frameworks, ensuring that appropriate preparations are made in advance and that service improvement activity arising from completed inspections is identified and implemented.

Ensure appropriate resources are in place to coordinate and support external inspections when announced. Act as a key point of contact during inspections to ensure that demands are responded to and progress and issues are effectively communicated to stakeholders.

To ensure resources are available to provide advice and expertise on consultation, engagement and co-design of services or service improvements with residents and partners.

To ensure issues of diversity and equality inform service development and changes, including strategic advice and guidance on meeting statutory responsibilities.

To develop the Department’s risk register and ensuring appropriate reporting through the various governance forums.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 

Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
