Housing Surveyor

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Housing Surveyor to work in Hull . This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying between £17.60ph PAYE or £22.01ph Umbrella.  This role is full time Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 16:30pm.

The role

To provide professional technical and project management expertise for the purpose of delivering Corporate and Private Sector Strategy objectives within the legal framework.

To undertake surveying of properties and technical work including the management of contractors in relation to the repair, maintenance, renovation and adaptations in both the private and public sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.

Project manage the technical and legislative aspects of individual grant and loan applications including property surveys, preparation of schedules, reports, drawings, and estimated costs to determine work which is eligible for financial assistance in accordance with the legal framework.  This includes meeting the requirements of the Decent Home Standard and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System.

Project manage building related works from inception to completion to ensure client is kept informed and building work is carried out in accordance with contract documents.

Carry out surveys for disabled adaptations in the public and private sector housing stock; prepare detailed plans, specifications, schedules, and reports to adapt / extend a dwelling that will enable disabled people to continue to live in their homes and improve their quality of life.

Develop, procure, control, and manage variations for specific contracts with building contractors so that all projects comply with designs and specifications, are completed on time, to budget and compliance with statutory requirements is maintained.

Authorise building works, certify accounts, prepare valuations, and certificates of payments for building contracts. Negotiate settlement of final accounts with contractors to secure optimum value for money for the council.

Provide homeowners, landlords and tenants with advice and assistance in relation to energy efficiency and maintenance to help occupiers to maintain their homes.

Liaise with other agencies, departments, and members to achieve a co-ordinated approach to service provision.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role

Compliance:  Proof of right to work in the UK, 2 x references, and DBS dated within last 12 months or on update service.

Travel:  Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours:  37 hours p/w.
