Interim Democratic Services Officer

Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an Interim Democratic Services Officer to start a new role in West Lancashire. 

You will efficiently and effectively service the meetings of the Council, Cabinet, Committees, Sub-Committees, Working Groups and other Bodies. You will give advice on Constitutional issues and other procedural matters.

This is a temporary position initially for 3 months with the view of extending.

This role is mainly a working from home role, with 1 day a week in the office.

Responsibilities:

To attend meetings and advise, inform and report to the same as appropriate and prepare, circulate and publish Minutes that accurately reflect the decisions made at meetings.

To manage and prepare the Agendas, papers and minutes of allocated meetings and to draft and present reports on appropriate matters, ensuring that information presented is accurate and is as comprehensive as is required to enable responsibilities to be properly discharged.

To organise and facilitate training events for Members, Officers and Parish Councils, e.g. Induction for New Councillors, the Code of Conduct, Modern.gov and report preparation and any other training events arising from new legislation/constitutional issues as designated by the Democratic Services Manager.  Such training to include leading presentation/workshop sessions.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: Experience of working in a democratic services environment or equivalent

Qualifications: HNC or relevant professional qualification or relevant professional experience in democratic services

Compliance: Right to Work in the UK, Basic DBS

Hours: 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, mainly working from home

Travel: Full driving licence and access to transport
