Library Customer Service Assistant

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a Customer Service Assistant to work within Solihull. This is a full time role, paying £13.21. 

 

Job Purpose: 

To deliver an efficient customer focused front line library, information and ICT service, assisting customers of all ages and backgrounds to make full use of the library resources and facilities.

 

Job Duties:

To provide a welcoming and efficient customer service in a frontline environment.

Assist customers with the full range of resources and services and respond proactively to enquiries.

Answer face to face, telephone and digital enquiries e.g. by email, using printed, digital and other resource formats including the internet, and referring on appropriately where required.

Assist customer with general ICT trouble shooting enquiries.

Assist customers with ‘getting started’ using library digital resources including PC’s and Wi-Fi – e.g. logging on, using MS word, accessing the internet or setting up an email.

Actively promote resources and services to customers including participation in engagement and promotional activities.

Operate a computerised Library management system and undertake all duties associated with supporting customers with self-service technology.

To set up and participate in events/activities as required i.e. delivery of a storytime or a digital drop in session.

To process payments and deal with enquiries connected to item sales, reservations, fines and activity charges.

Shelving resources, including loading and pushing of trolleys.

Carryout routine stock maintenance.

Undertake  administrative duties including the collection of statistical information

Liaise with other staff and supervisors to ensure workflow is maintained.

In the absence of more senior staff, ensure the physical security of the building, including locking up and correct use of Council equipment that is used in connection with work performed.

Ensure that confidentiality of customer records is maintained at all times.

Contribute to  special projects and other duties or activities commensurate with the grade
