Looked after Children Assistant Team Manager

Seven Social Care is working with Solihull Council to recruit an Assistant Team Manager for their Looked after Children’s Service.

Initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extension.

To take lead responsibility in the line management duties for your allocated workers which includes supporting them to meet all the responsibilities of the support worker and social worker role within the Looked After Children’s Team.

To promote a positive learning environment within the team and develop the key skills of all team members to enable them to do their job to a high standard.

To advise the Team Manager of training needs/ gaps within the service or relevant themes to enable a positive and inclusive working environment.

To ensure the quality of work and services offered to children and families.

To lead effective and collaborative conflict resolution processes with all stakeholders. 

To take responsibility for chairing service user and professionals’ meetings as appropriate.

To contribute to the divisional audit arrangements.

To participate in project/working groups as part of the move to integrated, multi-agency working.

To promote inclusive working and anti-discriminatory practice in service delivery and employment.

To participate in the Council’s Emergency Disaster Plan.

Take the lead responsibility for specialist areas of work and practice development within the team.

Participate in the development of practice standards and competence.

Deputise for the Team Manager in their absence or as requested.

Other such duties as delegated by the Team Manager commensurate with grade.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

      Degree approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.

Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
