Maintenance Surveyors

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a Maintenance Surveyor to work for North Yorkshire Council. This is a full time position of 37 hours a week, and we are paying £22.51 per hour for this role. 

 

The role:

A Maintenance Surveyor is responsible for assessing, inspecting, and managing the maintenance and repair needs of buildings, facilities, and infrastructure. They play a crucial role in ensuring that properties are well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and safe for occupant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the supervision of Repair and Maintenance Operatives undertaking responsive repairs to council homes.
  • To inspect and order responsive repairs including the specification of materials, empty property repairs and responsive maintenance programmes / contracts and liaise with customers as required.
  • Responsible for allocating work to council appointed contractors, monitoring, and signing off work following satisfactory completion.
  • Responsible for responding to reports of disrepair and/or repairs service-related complaints, undertaking investigations, and working closely with legal services in respect of disrepair claims.
  • To provide support and guidance to Repair and Maintenance Operatives.
  • To undertake site visits to assess progress and give direction to R & M Operatives.
  • To ensure that all customer queries are responded to within specified time frames, including request for tenants’ own improvement work.
  • To work closely with Adult and Children Services with regard to adaptation requests and raise appropriate work orders for minor/intermediate adaptation works.
  • To work closely with Capital Improvements in the development of the council’s rolling improvement plan.
  • Liaise with legal services to establish property boundary ownership and repair liabilities.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths. Need Moving and Handling Training. 

    Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience

  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 
  • Compliance: Current Standard DBS check. 
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
