Manchester Move Officer

Seven Social Care are currently looking for a Manchester Move Officer to start work in Manchester. This is an interim post, initially for 3 months with the view to extending.  

Manchester Move is a service that provides advice  on housing solutions. This may include social housing, private renting, home ownership and mutual exchanges.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful applicant will be responsible for managing Manchester Move rehousing  applications for homeless applicants accommodated in dispersed temporary accommodation.
  • The role holder will support applicants to enable appropriate move on opportunities are achieved to end their homeless journey.
  • You will be expected to support clients to register on the Manchester Move data base and update re housing applications.
  • You will conduct a housing needs assessment and ensure the information recorded on the Manchester Move application is an accurate representation of the moving group’s needs.
  • You will be required to ensure the rehousing applications are updated to reflect appropriate banding to ensure move on is achieved in a timely manner in line with Manchester Allocations Policy.
  • The ability to communicate clearly, concisely & accurately in ways that promote understanding is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of the Manchester Move system & Manchester Allocations Policy is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • You will be required to create offer letters to positively discharge statutory duties under the 1996 Housing act Part VII.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience:  1+ years experience  working in a similar role

Compliance: Current enhanced DBS, right to work in the UK.

Hours : 35 hours a week, Monday – Friday 9am- 4.30pm
