Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Provide comprehensive mental health assessments for individuals, incorporating relevant psychological, social, familial, medical, and developmental history.

 

2. Develop and implement individualized care plans addressing both mental health and holistic considerations, involving clients and their families in the planning process.

3. Provide crisis intervention as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.

4. Coordinate with other healthcare and social service professionals to provide a collaborative and effective service, encompassing all aspects of a client’s well-being.

5. Advocate for clients in various situations, navigating various systems such as healthcare, housing, and employment to ensure their needs are being met.

6. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and treatment plans, maintaining confidentiality in line with legal and professional standards.

7. Conduct group therapy, counselling, and educational sessions as appropriate based on clients’ needs.

8. Continue self-development via further training and engage in regular supervision sessions.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Psychology and a registered Social Worker with the HCPC in the UK.

2. At least 2 years’ experience in a mental health setting.

3. Excellent knowledge of mental health legislation in the UK and related ethical considerations.

4. Strong inter-personal and communication skills, with a genuine empathy for those dealing with mental health issues.

5. Must be a motivated self-starter, able to work with a degree of autonomy whilst also being a committed team player.

6. Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage a diverse caseload.
