New Buildings Technician

Seven Resourcing is recruiting for a Building Technician for their Adaptations and Building Maintenance Team.

Initial 3 months.

£11.80ph PAYE.

Job Purpose:

–    To coordinate the delivery of internal building maintenance projects to corporate sites and external Schools and Academies and home place adaptations for a wide variety of customers across Leicestershire 

–    Based at the Coalville depot, but with potential of working at multiple venues across the county  as and when required by the Team Leader: Building Maintenance Technicians

Duties:

Coordination of all resources (safety plans, equipment, materials etc.) necessary to deliver smaller projects in a safe, cost-effective profitable and timely manner in either a Home User, Corporate Building, School or Academy environment across Leicestershire as directed by the Team Leader . 

To work on own initiative to deliver small projects and  liaise with Team Leader, Customer Commissioner as required to productively resolve problems encountered on site.  

To work along-side the other Building Maintenance Technicians and assist in the delivery of larger Projects across Leicestershire. 

To provide the Team Leader with information such as measurements, hand drawings and photographs to assist in estimating and work revisions required for the service.

To be assessed and trained to be competent and qualified to undertake works safely, CPC standards to drive vehicles and Lantra or equivalent accredited for equipment use. 

To respond as necessary to emergency situations  such as emergency adaptations, works to provide a safer environment etc. and any other works considered to be urgent by the Leicestershire County Council which may have the requirement to work unsociable hours. 

To operate LCC computer systems within the service and provide accurate and comprehensive reports of site and home visits promptly.    

To attend training courses required to continue to maintain qualifications to comply with the Health and Safety requirements of the Building Maintenance Services..  

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the workshop, the home, office or building. 

To undertake any other duty as deemed to be in the interests of the Adaptations and Building Maintenance Team, and the Leicestershire County Council commensurate with the grade . 

An awareness of any information, written or verbal required to undertake the technical elements of the role as required. 

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: 

Trained to be competent and qualified to undertake works safely, CPC standards to drive vehicles and Lantra or equivalent accredited for equipment use.

OR

Significant and demonstrable and relevant knowledge and experience as described below, including significant experience of undertaking similar works and use of equipment.

Working Knowledge and understanding of good working practices and their relationship to CDM regulations, health and safety at work act, PUWER regulations

Relevant use of equipment for provision of Adaptations and Building Maintenance functions

Current related practice for risk assessment , CDM, Health and Safety, COSHH data sheets and COSHH risk assessment

Experience: Experience in the operational delivery of Adaptations / Building Maintenance projects

Working under pressure and problem solving

Experience of Liaising with customers and dealing with complaint

Compliance: Up to date Passport and DBS.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently. Driving Council vehicle.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
