New Homes Officer

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary New Homes Officer to work in Killingworth. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £12.70 (PAYE) or £15.54 (umbrella) per hour. This role will involve working from Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. 

The role:

You will be responsible for delivering a quality service, efficiently and effectively, to a range of housing applicants. With a focus on customer excellence, you will take a holistic approach to ensuring allocations are sustainable. You will play a pivotal role within a multi-disciplinary team, to drive high performance in managing the empty homes process.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a quality allocations and lettings service to a diverse range of council customers, including general needs applicants, vulnerable households and transferring tenants
  • Take a proactive approach to managing a caseload of properties and applicants, which focuses on quality and performance
  • Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to ensure properties are let to agreed standards and within target, providing regular reports on performance and outcomes
  • Assess housing need and confirm customer eligibility, based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, financial assessment
  • Identify and provide assistance to housing applicants, giving support and direction, where required. Refer applicants to a range of internal and external support services
  • Positively promote, publicise and show commitment towards tenancy sustainability
  • Provide a high performing customer service, focused on a journey of excellence  
  • One council approach to day to day activities, taking appropriate action, where required.
  • Provide information and consult with customers about services and actively encourage user participation
  • Ensure effective management of all records and systems
  • Develop and maintain up to date knowledge relevant to service, including benefit and welfare information
  • Adhere to statutory and regulatory frameworks, including housing, equality & diversity, data protection and health & safety

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

      N/A. 

Experience: Experience of social housing allocations or working in a social housing environment would be preferred.

Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
