Occupational Therapy Assistant

Seven Social Care are currently looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to start work in Liverpool. This is an interim post, initially for 3 months with the view of extending.

You will work with adults, families and carers to assess needs to support independent living within their own home, improve life chances and enhance social inclusion.

Responsibilities:

To be first point of contact for individuals with disabilities and their carers the use of equipment and/or adaptations provided. 

Assess the needs of individuals with disabilities within the City Council’s eligibility criteria and the relevant legislation within service level agreement. To recommend and organise the supply of equipment and adaptations to meet the assessed need. This will include utilising appropriate Technology. 

To liaise with other professionals, statutory, voluntary, community resources and other stakeholders to ensure that the best possible services are provided for the individual and their carers within available resources.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: Relevant experience in the assessment of the needs of individuals with disabilities and their carers

Qualifications: A desire to learn and progress by undertaking training to obtain the necessary skills and knowledge for the role. Relevant qualification e.g., Trusted Assessor Training, NVQ Level 3/4 in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards a relevant qualification (Desirable)

Compliance: Current enhanced DBS, right to work in the UK.

Hours : 35 hours a week

Travel: To hold a driving license with relevant insurance and have access to a car (desirable)
