People Policy and Strategy Officer

Seven Social Care is looking for a People Policy and Strategy Officer to work with Wolverhampton City Council. 

The role:

To support the People Policy and Strategy Consultant to develop and implement HR Policy in a modern and effective manner and in collaboration with the council’s vision and legislative constraints.

To work with the People Policy and Strategy Consultant, to identify and manage improvements across Policy and Strategy and support on collaborative work across the team, other service areas, key stakeholders and equality forums to ensure processes and procedures are inclusive, representative, valid, fair and transparent.

Key Responsibilities:

      Take a supportive role to benchmark, research, compile, review and modernise HR policies, management tools and guidance documents. Provide support to the People Policy and Strategy Consultant when preparing guidance to People Consultants/Advisors on consistent policy and process development.

Support to establish working groups with internal and external stakeholders to ensure policy development is an inclusive and consultative process. Manage the information shared with each group to ensure its relevant, informative and helps achieve outcomes required.

To support the development of a People Service forward plan for HR Policies and ensure it is monitored regularly. Appraise the People Policy and Strategy Consultant of any concerns/issues.

Help to prepare and support delivery of training and presentation of information to user groups, employees, trade unions and operational manager networks to ensure the business is constantly appraised of HR advancements.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree in HR Management or equivalent qualification or work experience
  • Experience: Working within the same or similar role within an HR Team
