Personal Adviser

Seven Social Care is looking for a Personal Advisor to start a new role in Stockport, Greater Manchester. This is initially a temporary post for 4 months with the possibility of placement extension.

The role:

To work with young people aged 16 years – 25 years who are or have been looked after or accommodated by the Local Authority in order to plan their transition to adulthood and assist them to live an independent life in their community.

You will be highly motivated to achieve the very best outcomes for the young people who are leaving care and making the transition to adulthood. You will have excellent skills in working flexibly and proactively with young people to ensure they reach their potential, particularly with the age range 16-25, and have experience/knowledge of working with care leavers/young people in care. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience of working as a Personal Adviser with this age group. You will be committed to partnership working with our colleagues in both children’s and adults’ services.

Key Responsibilities:

To carry out the statutory responsibilities and duties for looked after children in line with the Children Act 1989, Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and related regulations

To manage a caseload and keep accurate case records of work with young people and undertake statutory recordings

To contribute to Pathway Plan Assessments and provide ongoing assessment with young people to inform Pathway Planning

To build relationships with and support young people aged 16-25 years who are, or have been, looked after or accommodated by the Local Authority, to help them achieve their full potential in adulthood.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in childcare or other relevant professional qualification

Compliance: Up to date enhanced DBS on the update service, Right to work in the UK.

Hours: 37 hours a week
