Personal Advisor – Care Leavers Team

Seven Resourcing are seeking a Personal Advisor – Care Leavers Team to work within Leicestershire County Council. This is a full time role, paying £17.72 p/h. DBS and Full Driving Licence required.
Job Purpose
To support the work of Children in Care Service incorporating our Care Leaver services (some with unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee young people).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To be responsible for carrying out all the duties of the job in accordance with the County Councils Equal Opportunities Policy
To meet Children’s Workforce development Confederation Induction Standards
Support and advocate for Children & Young People who are Looked After or Leaving Care (including Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children/Young People).
To contribute to Single Assessments. To contribute to Age Assessments.
To supervise contact visits when parents are visiting children who are looked after.
To provide necessary transport for children/young people and parents/carers.
To undertake identified Life Story Work
To undertake such other duties as are within the scope of the job purpose, the title of the job and its grading.
Qualifications
Level 3 childcare qualification (NNEB/NVQ3 or equivalent)
Experience
Relevant paid or unpaid experience of working with young people within a social care setting or similar.
Providing support services to young people and/or unaccompanied and refugee young people
Experience of behavioural work with children / young people and their carers
Knowledge
Child Development
Home Safety Issues
Safeguarding children issues
Organisational and planning skills
Ability to work creatively
Basic child behavioural techniques
Cultures other than White British
The needs of older children
Of the support needs of young people leaving care and unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee young people.

Of relevant legislation in relation to young people leaving care.
