Personal Assistant

Seven Resourcing is working with Birmingham City Council to recruit a Personal Assistant for a Qualified Social Worker in the council.

This is 20 hours per week.

DBS is necessary for the role.

Car Driver is necessary.

Social Worker is working with Seven as well so is a good opportunity to work with an experienced worker and hone your skills.

Between £20 – £30 per hour depending on experience.

You can work from any of the bases in Birmingham, but main base is at 10 Woodcock Street and then the social worker will be based other days at Kendricks View.

Duties:

To support individual with dual sensory loss

To provide transport by car to / from home visits, meetings and training across Birmingham

To take detailed and accurate notes at all visits and meetings and provide these in electronic format as soon as possible afterwards

To assist with mobilising safely around buildings and on home visits by identifying door/room numbers, locating meeting rooms, verbally advising of any trip hazards or similar

To be vigilant to surroundings on home visits and discreetly notify of any concerns e.g. evidence of drug/alcohol misuse

To assist with reading any hand written notes where required

To assist with making phones calls where required

To occasionally assist with face to face communication e.g. repeating what someone has said

Other duties as required

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

      -experience supporting people with sensory disability

-previous training in communication support / communication tactics

-BSL level 4 or above

-familiarity with access to work schem

Experience: 2+ years working as a personal assistant. -car driver

-Experience of working in office environment

-experience of taking detailed and accurate notes

-access to laptop or tablet device

-flexible and adaptable to changing needs of client depending on situation

-clear communicator with high standard of written & oral English

-willingness to learn

-professional approac

Compliance: Up to date Passport and DBS.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
