Planning Strategy Manager

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Planning Strategy Manager to work within Suffolk County council.

This position is initially for 2 months and pays from £384.62 (PAYE) or £500 (Umbrella)

The role:

Reporting to the Head of Planning, the postholder will manage a team and take the lead on a wide range of issues related to the county council’s roles in the planning system. This includes the council’s own minerals and waste local plan, the interaction of the council’s services with district and borough council local plans and securing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with Ipswich Borough Council (IBC) and three developers as regards the delivery of new primary and secondary schools within the Ipswich Garden Suburb – a scheme of 3,500 homes.
• To work through priorities for the funding of infrastructure and, with IBC,  investigate external funding work.
• Work through Heads of Terms with IBC and one developer.
• Provide options for how the council manages engagement in Neighbourhood Plans.
• Procure training utilising the Planning Skills Fund.

Applicant Requirements:

• Qualifications: Relevant qualification for this role.
• Experience: 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Compliance: 3 years references.
• Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
• Hours: 37 hours p/w. 2 days in the office 3 days WFH
