Practice Manager

Seven Social Care is looking for a qualified Practice Manager to fill an exclusive opportunity specialising in the wellbeing of children in Halifax.

 

The role:

We are seeking a full time Practice Manager in the Fostering Service. You will manage the short term placement team and internal placement finding activity. You will manage a pod of 3 social workers , 1 advanced practitioner  and placement co ordinator .

Each of the practitioners  holds a caseload of foster carers ,primarily transferring from the recruitment and assessment pod. The team will provide focussed
support to build on the foster carers strengths and ensure compliance with regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Accountable for the quality of practice, setting standards and creating the conditions required for successful social work by motivating, nurturing and mentoring staff.  
Encouraging and promoting effective relationships and communication between individuals across the service and partner agencies.  
Supervise and support social work practitioners within the fostering team, to ensure standards of care provided by foster carers to children looked after are of a high standard and that the service meets both regulatory requirements and fostering standards.  
Provide support and management for the service ensuring the strategic plan for the Fostering Services is embedded in day to day operations.  
Develop new schemes and initiatives to meet the changing needs of children as well as to attract carers to join Calderdale’s Fostering Service. 

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.
  • Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
